When it rains in the desert, glorious things come. The dust settles and creates a clear view of the world. Rains bring the cool reprieve. But changes don't occur with a single rain, or even a series of rains - the ground is so thirsty, so parched that it quickly absorbs the moisture and becomes arid once again. It takes constant rain, an entire climatic change. It takes time. The grounds become saturated. The vegetation becomes healthy. The inhabitants' thirst is finally quenched. We want it to happen overnight, but even Noah's rains took time to flood the land. But the flooding did come.
